A man was sentenced to a three-and-a-half-year jail term by a court in Haikou, capital city of south China's Hainan Province, after setting fire to toilet paper in the washrooms of several local restaurants, local website hinews.cn reports.

The man, surnamed Li, was charged with arson according to the Criminal Law of China.

According to the report, Li had burnt toilet paper in the toilets of four KFC's (Kentucky Fried Chicken) chain stores in Haikou, causing damage totaling more than 8,000 yuan (about $1,180). He also set fire to paper in the washroom at a branch of the Chinese fast food chain Yonghe.

Li was reportedly doing all these because he was depressed.
