Gong Li loves fur!

Gong Li has become the latest target of an animal rights organization, which appealed to the Chinese actress to show humanity when it comes to her wardrobe.

The odd thing is, the print advertisement by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) Asia on Wednesday appears to be promoting animal cruelty!

The ad features a pair of pretty legs in high heels cruelly stepping on a dead rabbit, with blood all over the floor.

The ad reads, in large Chinese characters, “Gong Li: Standing on ‘top of fashion’?”

It carries another line in English: “Where does Gong Li stand on fur?”

PETA Asia also issued an open letter to Michelle Reis on Monday, asking her to start staying away from fur in the Year of the Rabbit.

Both actresses declined to comment.

But let’s face it, PETA needs better adverts. This looks like they’re shooting themselves in the feet.
