According to the Hainan Tourism Development Committee, the 14th Hainan Carnival is soon to be held from December 29th to 31st, and the main venue will be located in Sanya.

The city of Sanya will work together with five supporting venues including Haikou, Danzhou, Qionghai, Wanning and Qiongzhong to host the annual event.

Under the theme “Pleasure Hainan, Tourism Carnival”, the 14th Hainan Carnival will feature five main activities, including the opening ceremony, the Sanya international food carnival, the “journey of joy” tourism promotion week, the Sanya duty-free joyous shopping activity, and Sanya Art Season.

The opening ceremony will be held at Sanya’s scenic Qianguqing on December 29th, which will combine a large-scale cultural performance of Sanya Qianguqing, Li & Miao cultural display, One Thousand People Masked Ball, Qianguqing Coconut Concert, pirate battle game, and the Coconut Bay water dance performance.

During the “journey of joy” tourism promotion week, Wuzhishan, Wanning, Lingshui, Baoting, Ledong and sanya will jointly promote their tourism products and tour routes.

In addition, a series of related tourism and cultural activities, including the ‘LuHo Sanya’ New Year Carnival, the “Joyous Journey of a Thousand People” tourism promotion campaign, the Sanya International Visual Arts Festival, the Las Vegas Song & Dance Show, and the Haitang Show will be held at the 2013 Hainan carnival.
