According to Sanya relevant departments, a number of artworks that are representative of the city’s intangible cultural heritage collected across the city will be selected go on display at the 1st Hainan Arts Festival, which is scheduled to be held from September 20th to 30th, 2012 in Haikou City.

On July 20, 281 artworks were displayed at the Sanya Arts & Cultural Hall, including 208 photographic items, 40 paintings and 24 pieces of calligraphic artwork. 5 to 10 artworks will be selected from amongst their number to represent Sanya’s intangible cultural heritage at the Hainan Arts Festival

In order to better show off the cultural roots of Sanya City, Sanya Arts & Cultural Hall has organized 20 professional photographers and arts-related workers to start work on their creations in and around Sanya.

Meanwhile, 25 large-scale folk dancing performances organized by Sanya professional dance troupes will be staged at the Hainan Arts Festival to highlight the event.
