In 2011, in order to better develop and promote Li and Miao ethnicities traditional cultural Sanyuesan Fesitvial, Sanya is selected as the main host city to celebrate the festival and several big events for this festival will be kicked off from 2nd to 3rd April at Sanya Bay, Sanya. 
Themed as” Dancing & singing to display the ethnic cultures and romantic Sanya”, the Sanyuesan Festival will include 4 main activities:  Bamboo dance carnival, Minority Intangible Cultural Heritage display, Ethnic athletic competition, Ethnic featuring food display.
