2009 Seven Fairies Hot Spring Water Fun Day
The 2010 Seven Fairies Hot Spring Water Fun Day, one of top ten festivals in China, will be held in Baoting Li & Miao Nationalities Autonomous County from August 12 to 18.
It is said that there will be a variety of activities during this coming Water Fun Day, including Ceremony for Fetching Holy Water, the Opening Ceremony of the Water Fun Day, Large Scale Folk Dance Performances, Water Fun Carnival Parade of Folk Customs, Seven Fairies Image Girls Competition, Romantic Seven Fairies’ Date, Hainan Province Men’s Basketball Invitation Tournament, National Sport Game, Sports Meeting for Farms, Demonstration and Technique Competition for Brocade of Li Nationality and Bandhnu of Miao Nationality, Traditional Eight Sounds Contest of Li Nationality, Award & Fireworks Party, etc..
It is reported that the National Final of Seven Fairies Image Girls Competition will be held in the Great Hall of the People in Haikou City on August, 13.
Sally Wu, famous hostess from Phoenix TV, and Zhu Jun, a well-known host from CCTV, will be invited to be emcees for the Water Fun Day. In addition, Tan Jing, a noted young singer, will take part in the activities on initiation.
According to reports, the Water Fun Day is sponsored by the Propaganda Dept. of the CCP Hainan Provincial Committee, the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Commission of Hainan Province, the Department of Culture Radio Television Publication and Sports of Hainan Province, the Women’s Federation of Hainan Province, the Youth Federation of Hainan Province, Hainan Daily Press Group, the Hainan Broadcasting Group, the Baoting Li & Miao Nationalities Autonomous County Committee of CCP and the People’s Government of Boting Li & Miao Nationalities Autonomous County.
