To further improve the city’s tourism environment, the Sanya government is making efforts to speed up the construction of 73 more public toilets for tourists and residents this year.

The 73 new facilities will include 26 in Yalong Bay, 19 in Haitang Bay, 2 in Sanya Bay and 26 in other scenic spots.

At present, there are 1,257 public toilets in Sanya, with 133 located at A+ scenic spots, including 20 in the downtown area, 20 at Yazhou Bay, 28 at Sanya Bay, 37 at Yalong Bay, eight in the Dadonghai area, and 20 at Haitang Bay.

There are six five-star public toilets located at 4A+ scenic spots.

The government will build files for these facilities and carry out regular checks to improve services.

In addition, toilets at 254 hotels will be open free to visitors.

Sanya built and reconstructed 163 public toilets across the city in 2015.
