Accroding to Sanya Traffic Plice Department, the newly built Gouling Road, which links Yuya Road and Fenghuang Road was opened to traffic at 9:30 a.m. on January 21st.
 
 
 
The road allows a designed speed limit of 50 kilometers per hour.
 
 
 
The much-anticipated Hongsha Tunnel on this road section was also opened today. Covering a length of around 4.7 kilometers, the tunnel has a speed limit of 40 kilometers per hour. Besides, the motorcycles and electric bikes are banned running on the tunnel.
 
 
 
 
 
The Sanya Hongsha Tunnel, which said to be the longest in Hainan, will cut the driving time from Hongsha Area to downtown center, from 15-20 minutes to 8-10 minutes, effectively ease the traffic pressure of the existing roads of Dadonghai linking Hongsha to the main urban area and perfecting the regional road network.
