7th Sanya International Food Carnival opens on December 24
The 7th Sanya International Food Carnival opened on the square at Mangrove Tree Convention Center on December 24th and will run until January 3rd, 2016.
The opening ceremony was held around 4:30 p.m. The opening ceremony was attended by Yue Jin, Deputy Secretary of Sanya Municipal Party Committee and Deputy Mayor of Sanya, Fan Mu, Director of Sanya Tourism Development Commission, Chen Jiangguo, Executive Director of Sanya Tourism Association and Feng LinChuan, Deputy District Chief of Sanya’s Tianya District.
The 11-day food fiesta has attracted 80 exhibition booths, showing a wide selection of Chinese regional delicacies including Taiwanese food, Hainan local snacks, Li & Miao dishes and internaitonal cuisine.
To promote the seafood culture of Sanya, a cooking contest was held to select out Sanya’s top 10 seafood dishes.
Meanwhile, a series of Taiwan folk performances, such as temple fair performances, music and dance show by the Taiwan aboriginals are stage daily between 6:00 p.m and 9:30 p.m. at the main stage on the square during the event period.
