Test operation of Hainan Western Ring High-speed Railway starts
The long-awaited Hainan Western Ring High-speed Railway entered into test operation on November 26th, ahead of the official launch of the 345-km-long line at the end of December.
testing trains are running on the railway line during the test operation. The trains are running through 16 stations at a speed of 200 km per hour; it takes one hour and 56 minutes for the train to cover the 345-km distance.
After the line’s completion, there will be a total of 16 stops along the railway, starting from Haikou, Laocheng Town, Fushan Town, Lingaonan, Yintan, Baimajing, Haitou, Qizi Bay, Dongfang, Jinyue Bay, Jianfen, Huangliu, Ledong, Yazhou, Phoenix Airport, and Sanya.
The new railway will link up with the Eastern Ring High-speed Railway, which entered into operation in 2010. Together the two lines will form a circuit around the island.
