Hainan to build 2-hour transport network within the island
The development plan also sets down a timetable for the construction of transport infrastructure in Hainan Province. Within the next ten years, the time taken to travel between any two places on the island is expected to be shortened to two hours.
A local transport official says the island is planning to build a network of highways, as well as high-speed railway. Construction of two new airports is also underway. In addition to a comprehensive traffic network on the island, connections between neighboring provinces and regions will also be enhanced. Planning of a cross-sea bridge linking Guangdong and Hainan will be completed this year.
