The Phoenix Island International Cruise Terminal in Sanya welcomed three cruise ships on November 2nd, 2015, bringing about 6,000 passengers to the tropical coastal city.

The three vessels were Star Cruises’ SuperStar Virgo, Hainan Strait Shipping Co.’s cruise ship, the Coconut Princess and Italian super 5-star cruise liner, Costa Victoria.

At present, Phoenix Island International Cruise Terminal features a new 150,000-tonnage berth for the larger cruise ships. Since November 2006, when the cruise terminal opened, the facility has welcomed more than 478 cruise calls and inbound and outbound passenger numbers reached nearly 860,000.

Developments in the pipeline for Phoenix Island International Cruise Terminal include the construction of four new cruise berths to accommodate five to seven cruise ships at any one time.
