Sanya Phoenix Island International Cruise Terminal
An announcement on cruise booking by the Sanya Port Bureau revealed that 158 cruise liners are confirmed to dock in the city in 2016.
 
Since 2013 the Sanya Phoenix Island International Cruise Terminal has welcomed a total of 448 cruise calls, bringing about 370,000 passengers and generating 250 million yuan for the local economy.
 
The local government is also further developing its Phoenix Island International Cruise Terminal with the addition of new and bigger berths to cater to the growing cruise market.
 
The local government has signed a cooperation agreement with China Communications Construction Group (CCCG) and China National Travel Service (HK) Group Corporation to establish a joint venture to build their own brand of cruise passenger liners, which will make Sanya its homeport and carry out routes to Hong Kong and Vietnam in the first half of 2016.
 
In recent years, a series of supporting policies, such as the cross-border arrangement, have been carried out to help expand Sanya’s cruise tourism market, as well as to enhance its competitive position as an international cruise homeport.
