The Sanya government released the tourism statistics during the 2015 National Day holiday on October 7th at the Sanya Resident and Visitor Information Center.
 

A total of 506,000 tourists flocked to Sanya during this year’s National Day holiday, bringing total tourism revenue of 2.311 billion yuan to the city.

 

According to statistics, the average hotel occupancy rate reached 65.69%, and average daily expenditures per person reached 1,325 yuan. The average length of tourists’ stay in Sanya was 4.02 days. Average consumption for one-day tours stood at 691.12 yuan per person.

 

In Haitang Bay, the average hotel occupancy rate reached 85.94% (hotel occupancy rate on October 1-6 was 83.51%, 93.7%, 98.32%, 94.79%, 81.12% and 64.17%, respectively), and the average room rate was 1,480 yuan per night.

 

In Yalong Bay, the average hotel occupancy rate reached 81.06% (hotel occupancy rate on October 1-6 was 75.08%, 87.71%, 94.56%, 89.18%, 78.45% and 61.36%, respectively), and the average room rate was 1,750 yuan per night.

 

In Dadonghai, the average hotel occupancy rate reached 64.35% (hotel occupancy rate on October 1-6 was 63.89%, 72.78%, 78.48%, 68.92%, 57.21% and 44.83%, respectively), and the average room rate was 1,100 yuan per night.

 

In Sanya Bay, the average hotel occupancy rate reached 66.29% (hotel occupancy rate on October 1-6 was 60.25%, 76.03%, 76.58%, 69.92%, 63.8% and 51.11%, respectively), and the average room rate was 630 yuan per night.

 

The number of aircraft movements at the Sanya airport reached 2,053 in these 7 days, with the total volume of passengers reaching 319,700, among which international passengers totaled 3,600. The Sanya Railway Station handled 154,000 passengers during the holiday.

 

In addition, retail sales across the city reached 493 million yuan. The Haitang Bay Duty-free Complex received 117,400 visitors and recorded sales of up to 116 million yuan.

 

During the holiday period, individual tourists were the main type of tourists in the city. Statistics show that the proportion of individual-to-group tourists increased from 61:39 last year to 80:20.

 

The government also took a series of measures to maintain the order of Sanya’s tourist market during the holiday, including transportation management, safety production inspection, urban image improvement, public security management and control and typhoon safety precautions.

 

On September 30th, the local government opened the Sanya Resident and Visitor Information Center to enhance the tourists’ experience and also set up China’s first tourism police detachment.

 

To further improve the city’s tourist reception services, the government also provided tourists and residents more convenient 24-hour one-stop service hotlines, through which the public can report any tourism-related problems by calling the tourism hotline (12301), the government services hotline (12345), or the complaint hotline (12315).
