Sanya’s largest seafood square, Huo Che Tou Seafood Square was officially put into use on September 19th, 2015.
Located near at the Sanya Railway Station, the seafood square is filled with nearly 200 stalls and capable of holding 10,000 diners.
The seafood square is equipped with a spray cooling system, complimentary high-speed wireless Internet access, and other supporting facilities such as 1,500 parking spaces and a kid’s amusement zone.
In order to change the common impression of Sanya seafood pricing, which is often expensive and variable, all the stalls at this seafood square will sell at fair prices, which means all the seafood products sold will be supplied directly by the local fishermen, cutting off intermediaries (the distributors).
At present, the seafood square offers more than 150 kinds of seafood varieties. Consumers can buy fresh seafood products at the same wholesale prices offered at the wet markets.
Meanwhile, a stricter seafood processing management system has been introduced to regulate the seafood stalls at the square. Under the new system, the seafood sellers are not allowed to solicit customers for seafood spending by scrambling or cheating them. A fine of 50 to 1,000 RMB will be issued to any seafood stall found violating the regulation.
