Sanya launches crackdown on boat violations and illegal operations
The Sanya Maritime Authority announced that in order to implement urban management, the bureau is launching an overall safety inspection on water transportation starting this September.
According to an official, the inspection will be carried out during peak traffic hours at key water areas, and will especially focus on tourism boats. AIS surveillance, cruise patrols, stagnation interception and other methods will be utilized to crackdown on boat violations and illegal operations.
The AIS (Automatic Identification System) is capable of automatically identifying a series of possible inspection violations and statuses including AIS status, VHF08 channel conditions, overloading, insufficient seaman, and boat certificates.
The Sanya Maritime Authority will continue to strengthen management of the illegal operation crackdown, and spot check and intensify investigation and punishment to ensure the safety of water transportation in Sanya.
