An opening ceremony was held on September 1 for the first public kindergarten in Haitang District. The new kindergarten represents another big step forward in the development of this district after the opening of Wanda Haitang Bay International Cinema, Hainan 301 PLA General Hospital, and Sanya International Duty-free Complex.
 
The Haitang District No. 1 Kindergarten, which is located at Longjiang Town, occupies a floor area of 3.36 hectares with 2,672 square meters of building area. The kindergarten was built with an investment of more than 20 million yuan. The facility is capable of holding 270 kindergarten pupils, along with 36 teaching and administrative staff. Among the kindergarten’s staff, 16 are certified as preschool teachers and child-care workers.
 
At present, the kindergarten has enrolled 180 children from 2.5 to 5 years old. The tuition fee is 1,300 yuan per semester. For children living in the Longjiang Fengqing Town, tuition fees will be paid by the government.
 
Haitang District No. 1 Kindergarten is well equipped with a variety of facilities including an activities room, bathroom, outdoor rubber running track, and other equipment. 
 
Another kindergarten, the Haitang District No. 2 Kindergarten, is scheduled to open to the public in Longhai Town by the end of this year. The district is also planning to establish a new kindergarten in Tengqiao Area, Linwang Area and near Hainan 301 PLA General Hospital, offering quality preschool education for school-age pupils in those districts.
