Sanya draws out 6 marine functional zones in Sanya Bay
A new development plan for the division of Sanya Bay’s marine functional zones has been officially approved by the Sanya Government in order to effectively protect the environment of Sanya’s sea areas and build Sanya Bay into a well-developed leisure marine tourism zone.
Under the plan, marine development in Sanya Bay will be divided into six functional zones: hotel commercial use, public beaches, urban planning, watersports tourism, fishing, and special reserve. This is to ensure reasonable control of marine exploitation and to guarantee the development of urban coastal leisure activity and modernized fisheries.
The planned marine area of Sanya Bay covers an area of 183.12 square kilometers, starting from the south of Luhuitou Peninsula, east of Jiaoling Cape, and west of Xiaoqi Port, with a total coastline of 27.32 kilometers.
