The 1st World Mahjong Sport Games 2015 will be held in Sanya in October in Sanya organized by the Mahjong International League (MIL), along with its co-organizer and sponsor Beijing Lianzhong Co. Ltd.
 
The Duplicate Format will be used not only for individual competition but also team competition based on the common MCR rules as the main event.
 
Meanwhile Mahjong Carnival will be hosting parallel events in riichi (WRC rules) and Sichuan rules within the Sportify Mahjong Mind Sports (duplicat) format.
 
The World Mahjong Sport Games is planed to be held on October 24th-28th, a perfect month of tourism there. The city gained the favors of MIL because of the capacity of organizing world-class tournaments, perfect competition services and favorable weather and fantastic tropical sceneries.
 
More than 500 players from all over the globe are expected to take part in the competition.
