Weather in Sanya clears up, some scenic spots reopen
The effect of Typhoon Kujira on Sanya has weakened after it made landfall at Hele Township in Wanning about 6:50 p.m. Monday evening, and some scenic spots in Sanya including Dongtian Park, Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone, Luhuitou Park which were closed during the typhoon period have reopened on June 23rd.
Sea-related tourism operating enterprises and scenic spots like West Island, Wuzhizhou Island and Sanya Water Park as well as low-altitude sightseeing tourism operations are still closed to the public on June 23rd due to the safety concerns.
Sanya Phoenix International Airport resumed normal operation yesterday morning. During the typhoon period, over 127 flights (82 incoming flights and 45 outgoing flights) were delayed or canceled.
The Hainan High-speed Railway service resumed operation at 11:00 a.m. yesterday morning.
On June 23rd, Typhoon Kujira has triggered flooding in many parts of the city. The local traffic department has sent workers armed with mechanical equipment to assist in rescue and repair work.
