More international flights boost Sanya tourism market
Domestic tourism has grown in Sanya in recent years. But international tourism numbers remain relatively low, which, according to the report, is attributable to the limited number of direct flights.
These regular direct flights increase accessibility to the Hainan from Singapore and offer travelers the opportunity to reduce travelling time and costs.
The Southeast Asian market has traditionally been the most important tourism source market for Sanya, especially countries like Singapore. The success of new flight routes solidified the government’s commitment to boosting incoming tourism to Sanya from Singapore.
The Phoenix International Airport has opened regular international flights to destinations including Taipei, Hong Kong, Seoul, Osaka, Russia and Singapore.
As more airlines choose Sanya as a destination, tourism officials believe more sophisticated visitors will be drawn to the city.
