Real estate transactions rose both by unit number and area in the first five months of this year, according to the Sanya Real Estate Association.
The volume of online housing transactions in Sanya reached 8,341 units, an increase of 26.63 percent from the same period of last year, with an average housing price of 20,141 yuan per square meter.

Meanwhile, the online transaction area of residential properties surged 17.9 percent year-on-year to 708,800 square meters.

Non-island citizens constituted 87.61 percent of commercial residential home purchases in Sanya in the five months. Buyers from northeast of China, Beijing and the Yangtze River Delta regions were the main purchases of home properties.

Growth in the transaction volume of business real estate including resort hotels, theme hotels and commercial buildings also rose from 15.86 in 2012 to 21.85 percent in 2014.

The commercial property market in Sanya, China’s only tropical tourist city, has enormous potential. Local real estate enterprises will continue to organize promotional events in major domestic cities like Harbin, Chongqing, Taiyuan and Beijing to show off the real estate offerings in Sanya.
