Sanya urges construction of Haitang Bay Dreamland City

Zhang Qi, member of Provincial Standing Committee of Hainan and Secretary of the Sanya Municipal Committee, urged advancement of the construction of the large-scale cultural tourism complex, Haitang Bay Dreamland City, after learning of the project planning report by the Sanya Haichang Tourism Industry Development Co., Ltd.

Construction of the project is part of another attempt by the Sanya government to combine tourism with entertainment, a campaign which has great influence on Sanya’s tourism transition and development.

Covering a land area of more than 1,000 acres, the project will involve a total investment of 6.9 billion yuan.

The sprawling leisure development will feature several “marine cultural” installments, including an installment called Fantastic Street, an underwater restaurant, and a Hainan marine ecological hall.

After completion, the project will include a marine theme park combined with cultural tourism elements, a leisure holiday village, along a wide variety of other entertainment outlets.
