On June 8, a massive beach cleanup campaign was held in Sanya to mark World Oceans Day.
The launching ceremony for the campaign started at 8:30 a.m. at the Sanya Bay.
The campaign generated overwhelming support from the luxury hotel community in and around Sanya. More than 50 hotels in Hainan took collective action to keep the regional beaches beautiful.
Meanwhile, hotels in major bays in Sanya also launched themed activities, calling for the public to pay more attention to the welfare of the ocean environment.
Every year, Sanya organizes a regular beach cleanup to raise public awareness of environmental issues, to increase public participation in public welfare works, and to contribute to environmental protection and ecological environment construction.
