Sanya citizens should be prepared to face a water crisis in the coming days as some regions are already facing water supplies being cut off even before the peak season for water consumption arrives.
 
Due to the lingering high temperatures and lower-than-normal-rainfall this year, water scarcity is becoming a source of serious concern for Sanya officials.
 
Some regions and areas in Sanya, such as Dadonghai Area, Luhuitou Area and Hongsha Area are struggling with water shortages, according to reports.
 
There has been an obvious decrease in the inflow of water into the reservoirs since the start of April.
 
The government has launched their emergency plan to tackle the problem by setting in place water conservation projects. Besides, the government is also calling on the public to help save water to ease the pressure on the reservoirs.
