Average passenger seat occupancy rate of Sanya-Seoul flights reaches 85%
The Sanya-Seoul chartered flights have successfully carried more than 4,000 passengers between the two cities with an average flight occupancy rate of around 85% since its opening a month ago, according to Mr. Cui Chenxing, a representative of Hainan Korea Holidays Co Ltd.
Mr. Cui said they plan to add more flights to meet the growing market demand. The weekly Sanya-Seoul flights will be increased to 4 from 2 in July and August. Besides, the Haikou-Seoul flights are expected to open next month.
Last month, Hainan also launched promotional conferences in South Korea to seek cooperation with major Korean travel operators by highlighting the characteristic tourist products, such as golf tourism, summer camping tours and family tour packages.
To promote Sanya as an attractive holiday destination, the local government also is considering providing financial subsidies to encourage airlines to expand international air routes to lure more overseas tourists to the city.
