According to the Sanya Urban Planning Bureau, the detailed planning for Sanya Bay proposed by a panel of experts will be rolled out soon. The Sanya Bay is expected to be built into a well-developed leisure marine tourism zone in the near future.
 
The planned marine area of Sanya Bay covers an area of 183.12 square kilometers, starting from the south of Luhuitou Peninsula, the east of Jiaoling Cape, and west of Xiaoqi Port, with a total coastline of 27.32 kilometers.
 
Under the plan, the marine development in Sanya Bay will be divided into 6 functional zones: hotel commercial use, public beaches, urban planning zone, watersports tourism zone, fishing zone and special reserve zone.
 
The new plan is based on the specific conditions of the marine resources, marine environment and social demand of Sanya Bay, which will provide visitors with an exquisite leisure experience with a reasonable layout, excellent marine ecological surroundings and complete facilities.
