The 2015 7th TPO (Tourism Promotion Organization for Asia Pacific Cities) General Assembly is set to take place in Haitang Bay, Sanya from May 28-29, according to the Sanya Tourism Development Commission.
 
The TPO General Assembly is a venue for the communication and exchange of information related to management of the tourism industry as well as discussions of key issues the tourism industry faces among the Asia Pacific Cities. This year’s TPO General Assembly is set to attract 76 member cities from 10 countries and regions, including Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, Russia, Thailand, the Philippines, China and Taiwan.
 
Established in 2002, TPO is an international travel cooperation organization with governmental institutions as members. At present, TPO has a total of 76 city members in 10 countries.

Sanya became a member in 2004. TPO is aimed at promoting the development of the travel industry in Asian-Pacific areas.
