A list recently released by China’s well-known travel website, www.ly.com, showed that Sanya ranked 2nd among the top 10 most popular domestic tourist destination cities during this year’s May Day holiday.
 
The top 10 most popular domestic tourist destination cities were Beijing, Sanya, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xiamen, Chengdu, Guilin, Qingdao, Suzhou and Lijiang.
 
It has become more and more popular place for domestic citizens, whose interest in beach tourism has been on the rise, to vist cities such as Sanya and Xiamen to enjoy their holidays.
 
The report also showed that the most popular tourist attractions in and around Sanya were Wuzhizhou Island, Yalong Bay, Tianyahaijiao Scenic Spot, Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park, Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone, Dream Valley, Haitang Bay, Dadonghai, Sanya Bay and ClearWater Bay.
