According to China Southern Airlines, flights from other domestic cities to Sanya have been nearly booked out during the May Day holiday as tourists flock to the city to enjoy the tropical climate and scenic spots it offers.

Short-distance travel destinations like Sanya, Xiamen, Kunming, Lijiang, Dali and Huangshan are enjoying high popularity among tourists.

On April 30th and May 1st, occupancy rates of flights booked from Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou to Sanya reached 90% and air tickets for May 2nd-3rd from Sanya to Beijing and Shenzhen have been sold out.

The airlines company is suggesting tourists rearrange their travel plans to try to avoid the traditional travel peak period.
