Sanya is still one of the most popular tourist destinations for the May Day holiday in China, according to surveys conducted by 17u.com, a popular online travel portal in China.

According to the report, China’s top 10 most popular tourist cities with the highest travel reservation indices this year are: Hangzhou, Suzhou, Sanya, Xiamen, Qingdao, Lijiang, Shanghai, Nanjing, Chengdu and Guilin.

As one of the hottest tourist destinations in China, Sanya is pushing forward the transformation and diversification of its tourism industry and seeking to forge itself into a renowned tourist destination worldwide.

Many scenic spots in Sanya are holding promotional events for the holiday, such as; the Sanya Nanshan Temple, a famous Buddhist temple in Sanya; Sanya Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park, a natural oasis in Sanya; and Sanya Wuzhizhou Island, a great place for scuba diving in China.
