China Southern Airlines adds 16th stationed aircraft to its base in Sanya
China Southern Airlines added a 16th stationed aircraft to its base in Sanya on April 15th.
The new aircraft will bring in an estimated 5 million yuan in flight tax revenue to the city and transport 150,000 passengers in and out the city annually.
In the last three years, China Southern Airlines has carried a total of 9.37 million passengers in and out of Hainan. Currently, the airline company has 24 routes from Sanya to mainland cities.
China Southern Airlines also continues to open more domestic and international air routes to the Sanya area, including Sanya-Guangzhou-Osaka service, which was launched at the end of March this year, greatly enlivening the tourism market and making more contributions to the economy and overall development of the region.
According to the plan, China Southern Airlines will deploy 11 additional aircrafts in the region from 2015 to 2020. By 2020, the carrier is expected to handle 8 million passengers in and out the city annually.
