Sanya Port’s throughput expected to reach 1.6 million tons by the end of 2015
Sanya Port’s annual cargo throughput is expected to reach 1.6 million tons by the end of this year, according to the Sanya Port authority.
The total cargo throughput of Sanya’s ports reached over 404,500 tons in the first three month of this year, a 44% year-on-year increase.
Investors are now pouring into Hainan after construction of the Hainan International Tourism Island became part of the national strategy with large-scale projects spreading like wildfire across the island.
Imports of containerized steel, concrete and other materials are rapidly increasing, thereby driving forward the economic development of the city as well as spurring growth in the cargo handling and logistics sectors.
