The PGA TOUR China Series season kicked off with the Haikou Open at the Sandbelt Trails Course at Mission Hills Haikou on April 2nd.
 
The PGA TOUR China Series features 13 tournaments that begin in April and conclude in November.
 
The 4-day event at Mission Hills Haikou attracted 144 golf players from 15 countries and regions including Australia, Canada, Japan, South Korea and China. • The purse for the Mission Hills Haikou Open is RMB1.2 million.
 
The Sandbelt Trails Course is a venue built in the style of many Australian courses in that country’s sandbelt region. It is situated amid Haikou’s lava-rock formations on the island, just south of China’s mainland. The Sandbelt Trails Course is one of ten 18-hole courses designed by Schmidt-Curley at the Mission Hills Haikou complex.
