Sanya releases fish eggs into Yazhou Bay
Yazhou Bay
The Sanya Marine and Fishery authorities released 150 million eggs of major fish and seasell species Tuesday into the Yazhou Bay, in a move to bolster sustainable development of local ecological fishery.
The species released included grouper, crabs, noble scallop and pearl oysters.
The fishery authorities at the event said in recent years the number of many marine species is believed to have been shrinking due to human encroachment and the degradation of the marine environment.
The increase of fish and seashell stocks was a major step to preserve the aquatic environment and promote the fishing industry.
Sanya plans to build more marine farms within 10 years and expand the project’s release area.
