A new Sanya-Shanghai-Moscow route opened on April 1st, becoming the first regular international air route between Sanya, Hainan and Russia this year.
  
Scheduled for every Wendesday and Sunday, the flight departs Sanya at 6:55am and arrives in Moscow at 5:00pm on the same day. The return flight departs Moscow at 7:05pm and arrives in Sanya at 2:05 am the next day.
 
The opening of the flight route has been a major plan of the Hainan government as well as for China Eastern Airlines. The route will help facilitate cooperation and exchange between Russia and Hainan in the areas of economy, trade and tourism.
 
Meanwhile, the Sanya-Osaka air route, operated by Southern China Airlines, opened on  March 29th. The route is operated with one flight every day and has a stop-over in Guangzhou.
