Qiongzhou University and IMC University of Applied Sciences, Austria signed a framework agreement of academic cooperation and inaugurated the new Joint Sino-Austrian College academic program on the morning of March 29th.

The Headmaster of Qiongzhou University, Wu Yaoting, and the President of IMC University of Applied Sciences, Austria, Karl C. Ennesfellner, signed the cooperation agreement while the Hainan Vice-Governor Lu Junhua and the President of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, Dr. Christoph Leitl also attended the ceremony.
 
The two universities established a friendly cooperation relationship in 2013 and began a joint effort to establish the Sino-Austrian tourism educational classes.
 
Under the agreement, based on the cooperation foundations of the tourism educational project for their students, a co-constructed Sino-Austria College will be set up at Qiongzhou University.
 
Apart from sending teachers for exchanges and study, both universities will conduct postgraduate and PhD study exchange programs. 
 
At 3pm on the day of the signing, the President of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, Dr. Christoph Leitl, visited Qiongzhou University and gave interactive lectures to students, together with the Office of the President of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, Dr. Ernst Huber; Commercial Counsellor of the Austrian Embassy, Dr. Martin Glatz; Austrian Embassy’s trade attaché, Mag Dietmar Schwank and President of IMC University of Applied Sciences, Karl C. Ennesfellner. Also present at the lectures were the Vice Headmaster of Qiongzhou University, Liao Minsheng; the Director of the Hainan Provincial Education Department for International Exchange, Zhang Chao and Director of Office of International Exchange and Cooperation of Qiongzhou University, Wei Jing.
 
 
In this activity, the President of IMC University of Applied Sciences, Karl C. Ennesfellner, firstly delivered a speech and welcomed the students to come to Austria for academic study by showing the introduction video of Austria
 
Then Dr. Christoph Leitl introduced Austria’s national resources, culture, and study and work opportunities in Austria. He also mentioned that China and Austria plan to strengthen cooperation in many fields in the near future, which captured the attention of the students.  
 
In response to a series of overseas study concerns presented by students, such as the issuing of visas, Austrian officials and professors on-site gave full and detailed replies.
