According to Wu Yanjun, the Mayor of the Sanya Government, due to multiple factors, such as favorable natural and medical conditions as well as the increasing market demand, Sanya is one of the best places for medical tourism.
 
The TIRR Memorial Hermann is a 134-bed rehabilitation hospital, rehabilitation and research center, outpatient medical clinic and network of outpatient rehabilitation centers in Houston, Texas, USA.
 
In 2014, TIRR Memorial Hermann Hospital ranked as one of the “Best Rehabilitation Hospitals” in America, according to U.S. News & World Report.
 
Mayor Qu said Sanya plans to give priority to developing the healthcare and medical industry in the city for the foreseeable future. There are 5 to 6 high-end medical institutions that are intending to establish branches in Sanya.
