Members of the ‘Big Sanya Tourism Circle’ are stepping up efforts to court more tourists, pushing nature, culture and well-being to counter Sanya’s popular coastal appeal.

To work close with Sanya’s tourism-related sectors to integrate regional resources, Lingshui authorities believe that its regional food, tropical garden and hot springs can attract tourists for a longer stay, complementing Sanya’s already-existing ocean and beach themed tourism.

Baoting is the place with the greatest number of tropical rainforest hot springs in Hainan.

Baoting, for instance, is boosting promotions for its scenic mountain settings and health-enhancing hot springs.

Besides, Baoting also set up a visitor information center in Dadonghai Tourism Zone, Sanya to attract more tourists to its city’s attractions with combo tours.

To gain benefits from the collaboration and achieve a win-win situation, Ledong has laid out a project to develop a comprehensive coastal tourism holiday zone on its three bays – Longmu Bay, Longqi Bay and Longteng Bay.

As Ledong County boasts a vast area of rainforest and mountains, the local government is seeking to develop more themed travel routes as a good option for leisure and well-thought out activities.

Meanwhile, Sanya is not resting on its laurels. Haitang Bay welcomed a new duty-free mall, among other facilities, while central Sanya saw the opening of a popular cultural tourism attraction, Sanya Romance Park, in September 2013. Developments are also ongoing in Sanya Bay, Yalong Bay and Dadonghai.
