Illegal tourist motorboats in Sanya Bay raise safety concerns
Safety concerns have been raised recently over an ever-present illegal commercial motor boating business in Sanya Bay.
The motorboating sector of tourism in Sanya is regarded as one of the areas mostcharming and attractive tourist products.
However, the lack of national regulation of tourist motorboat management often poses great potential threats to tourists’ safety when they use this service.
Driven by the available profits, these unlicensed motorboating operators, which are being cracked down on by the local authorities, were still found wandering around some big tourism bays in Sanya soliciting tourists with low prices, which not only leads to a disorderly water tourism industry but also puts tourists’ safety at risk.
The long-term disorderly situation has aroused great concern from the Sanya government as well as the tourism industry and an effective mechanism is being called to be set up to regulate the motorboating tourism market.
Local authorities in Sanya have also been warning travelers of the dangers of unlicensed motor-boats out of concern for travelers’ safety.
