Sanya releases citywide regulations for air quality control
Sanya recently issued citywide regulations for air quality control which are expected to be activated within this year.
According to data released by the Sanya Air Quality Real-time Publishing Platform, the city’s average air quality indices (AQI) rating in 2014 was 35, which is considered the national air quality standard Level I.
The report showed the air quality index for 82.7% of the days, 302 days, reached grade I national air quality standards.
According to the regulations, to control dust pollution in the city construction companies in Sanya are required to keep a close eye on emissions of dust and other forms of pollution at their existing construction sites if they want to bid on new projects, according to a city government official.
Meanwhile, Sanya will continue to introduce more energy-efficient buses and taxis.
