Sanya sees increase in overseas tourists during CNY holiday
Sanya received 11,391 overseas tourists during the 2015 Chinese New Year holiday, nearly double the number from last year’s holiday, according to the latest statistics from Sanya Customs.
During the holiday, the number of international flights from Russia, Mongolia, Singapore and Vietnam to Sanya reached 49. Meanwhile, the Queen Mary 2’, the largest cruise ship the Sanya port has ever received, brought a total of 2,650 passengers from the UK, US, Australia, Canada, Germany and other countries and regions to the city.
To get more international tourists to come to Sanya, the local government this year will dispatch delegations to attend around 10 international tourism exhibitions to develop and expand international tourist markets for Sanya, including ITB Berlin, Moscow International Travel & Tourism (MITT), Kazakhstan International Tourism Fair (KITF), 4th Asia Golf Tourism Convention (AGTC), Korea World Travel Fair (KOTFA) and Expo Milano 2015.
