Sanya introduces standard system for food processing fees at seafood stalls
To regulate the seafood market and attempt to increase the service level of the tourist consumer market, the Sanya government has called on the seafood restaurants/stalls in the Tianya District to make the processing fees of seafood more clearly known to the public.
The move aims to further protect the customers’ interest and improve the service level of the seafood market.
All the seafood restaurants are required to display the standard processing fees of each type of seafood collected in a prominent and clearly visible location.
Any seafood restaurants failing to clearly mark the seafood processing fees will be fined up to RMB 5,000. Those who are found having price-gouging practice will be fined RMB 50,000-500,000.
Since 2012, the Sanya Price Bureau has required seafood restaurants in Sanya to clearly mark the prices of all seafood dishes, in an effort to prevent seafood stalls cheating or ripping-off customers.
