2015 Haitang Bay Flower Show sees large tourist crowds on opening day

The opening of the 2015 Haitang Bay Flower Show drew huge numbers of tourists.
On February 15th alone, about 11,000 tourists, within 8 hours of opening, visited the 160,000-square-meter flower garden that offers various kinds of seasonal flowers such as daylilies, marigolds, amaranths, lavender, hibiscus, as well as other aromatic plants.
The number was much higher than expected, said authorities from the tourism spot.
The garden has been upgraded to be equipped with parking lots, electric sightseeing cars and a tourist service center to make the best preparations for welcoming huge numbers of tourists during the coming Spring Festival holiday.
The opening of the Haitang Bay Flower Show is another step by the Sanya government to build the region into a more attractive tourist destination for visitors.
