Sanya unveils plan to promote green buildings in 2015
The Sanya Government has taken another major step forward in the promotion of "green buildings" in the city by providing green building codes as part of a major new sustainability scheme.
The green building code aims to develop Sanya into one of China’s most green development sites.
Major areas covered by the Code of Practice include the construction of precast elements ranging from official institutions, schools, hospitals, museums, sports stadiums, and science centers receiving local government investment, to other large-scale buildings like hotels, office buildings and shopping malls.
Additionally, real estate developers have encouraged the adoption of the guidelines to develop green residential and commercial communities across the island.
According to planning, the total construction area of green buildings across the city is expected to reach 1.15 million square meters by the end of 2015.
