The Phoenix Island International Cruise Terminal in Sanya welcomed two cruise ships on February 9th, 2015, bringing about 3,000 passengers to the tropical coastal city.

 

One of the vessels, the ‘Crystal Symphony’, made her inaugural visit to Sanya and arrived first at the port, around 7:00am, followed a couple of hours later by Italian super 5-star cruise liner “Costa Victoria”.

 

The passengers are from 15 different nations, including the United States, the UK and Canada. On that day, passengers took time to visit some tourist attractions, including the Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone.

 

“It’s great to see the season kick off with two ships arriving within one day,” says the cruise port’s authority. “Over the course of the year we expect to welcome a number of cruise ships to our moorings. They give passengers the unique experience of waking in one of China’s most popular tourist cities, within easy reach of major tourist sites, such as the Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone and Sanya Bay”.
