Sanya’s 7 scenic spots receive 180K tourists during 3-day holiday

Sanya has seen a boom in tourism during the 3-day New Year holiday with tourists flooding into the city’s major scenic spots.

During the 2015 New Year holiday, which ended on January 4th, Sanya’s 7 scenic spots received 185,200 tourists.

Sales at the Haitang Bay Duty-free Shopping Center were recorded at 54.83 million yuan.

Hotels in Sanya also saw occupancy levels boom due to the increase of tourists during the holiday. Major star-rated hotels in Sanya Bay, Yalong Bay and Haitang Bay saw average hotel occupancy rates exceeding 80%. 

The Sanya Phoenix International Airport received a total of 1,005 flights during the 3-day holiday, with the total volume of passengers reaching 162,739.
