Sanya airport sees nearly 15m passengers in 2014, up by 16.1% year-on-year
At 23:57 on the last day of 2014, the GS7437 flight from Xi’an made a safe landing at Sanya Phoenix International Airport, marking the successful completion of the airport’s annual task.
Accordingly, in 2014, Sanya Phoenix International Airport received a total of 100,000 flights and 14.94 million passengers, an increase of 15.3% and 16.1%, respectively, over the same period last year. Sanya airport’s passenger throughput ranked 18th place in China in 2014, and 2014 marked the 21st consecutive year of safe operation for this airport.
Sanya Phoenix International Airport has set up 3 base companies. At present, 32 airlines are operating flights from Sanya, among them are 22 domestic airlines and 10 international or regional airlines. A total of 287 flights route were launched, including 228 domestic flight routes, 3 regional flight routes and 56 international flight routes. The number of destination cities reached 131, including 76 Chinese cities, 3 regional cities and 52 international cities. The flight route network has covered the major capital cites and tourism cities in China, as well as international cities such as Russia, Kazakhstan, North Korea etc,.
