Green coastal corridor under construction in Wanning
Currently, a tourism road linking Shimei Bay and Dahuajiao is underway to help boost the local tourism industry in Wanning city.
The road section of Shimei Bay to Da Hua Jiao in Wanning is the first tourism-oriented road project in Hainan. The road spans 35.4 km in length and has received a total investment of 962 million yuan.
The roads will connect numerous tourist attractions to serve as a green coastal corridor integrating tourism, sightseeing and recreation with slow-traffic lanes, leisure coffee cafes and RV camping sites to be built along the journey to bring convenience for bicycle and motor-vehicle tourists alike.
Meanwhile, other similar tourism-oriented roads are planned in Lingshui County, Lingao County, Changjiang County and Qionghai City.
According to the plan, the tourism-oriented roads, which weave around the entire island, will connect 17 scenic spots and 22 tourism townships by 2020.
