Haikou continues to top Chinese cities with cleanest air quality in July
Haikou has once again topped the official list of the cleanest cities in China in July 2015, according to a ranking released by the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) on Monday.
The top 10 cleanest cities on the list were Haikou, Lishui, Fuzhou, Jiangmen, Zhuhai, Zhoushan, Xiamen, Huizhou, Zhongshan and Shenzhen.
The report showed that the city recorded 28 days with excellent air quality and 3 days with good air quality in July this year.
Haikou has attached great importance to environmental protection in recent years. The annual average sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide release, as well as particles control in the city have reached the national first level quality standard.
